Remembering what matters

My current research explores the representation of autism in life writing by autistic authors, in the context of the recent clinical and cultural framings of autism. I am interested in what this teaches us about life writing and the autobiographical construction of selfhood, and how these narratives contribute to greater agency and cultural acceptance for autistic people.  Through this website, I offer different perspectives on what 'stories of autism' might mean, including those that are visual as well as published 'autobiographies' and blog posts, and invite you to contribute your own. The idea is that through these stories we can contribute to the improved acceptance of autism and neurodiversity.
